Om my goodness! don’t you just get extra happy when you find old belongings like notes, diares, photos etc? I was going to clean under my bed and found my POETRY-book(if you can call it so) i did in my younger years. Happy!

When i was younger, in 8th grade  i hated poetry. i thought it lead someone to think too much, most of the time it left me many questionmarks. Thinking why should i be reading this kind of crap?  But then my english teacher Eva Brown( I will never forget her name, nor her style and the way she spoke to us students) introduced Rudyard Kipling to me… My eyes and mind were wide open. For the first time i could actually understand and relate to the poem. I love the poem he wrote, called “IF”. Since i read it, i started to like  reading poems more&more. Even my teacher got impressed by my work& gave me a A+.  Well.. You gotta read a little bit from it from the poem…

‘IF’ by rudyard kipling

“If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise”.

“If you can dream – and not make dreams your master, If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools”.

What if we could adjust to what Rudyard demonstrates in this poem? I try my very best everyday. we all should do.
